When talking about education people often confuse it with schooling. Many think of places like schools or colleges when seeing or hearing the word. Education, as we understand it here, is a process of inviting truth and possibility, of encouraging and giving time to discovery a social process. Also is a process of living and not a preparation for future living.

Education is a very vital part of human welfare and existence. Education is the greatest bequest a state can offer to her populace. It is a human right that should be accorded to all human beings solely by reason of being a human being. The strength of a state is determined by the number of the vast majority that is educated. This is because only educated citizens are enlightened and enlightenment leads to national and global development. Can this be said of a state like underdeveloped country, where her vast majority is uneducated because of the some below listed problems: 

·       Lack of interest on the part of the learners

·       Neglect of the Education to poor governance that has led to the apathetic attitude towards the quality of the Education given

·       Poor Social Amenity and Training Facilities

·       Poor Teacher’s Welfare

·       Lack of dedication on the part of Teachers

·       Lack of high performers

·       High level of exam malpractices.

·       Poor Funding

Education is more than reading, writing and arithmetic; it is one of the most important investments a country can make.  Education helps people work better and can create opportunities for sustainable and viable economic growth for the future. Education has also been seen to give people critical skills and tools to help them provide for themselves and their children

Over time, illiteracy has played an undeniable role in the untamed existence of ignorance. Ignorance of opportunities brings about poverty which gives room to hunger and ill health.

Put in another words, education bring enlightenment which enable the citizens to select the best leaders and so follow the laid down rules and regulations without any for harassment. Also enable the leaders to know the best form of government that will suit their state.

Effective education in the state would go a long way to improve the standard of living of the people, by way of providing with adequate social amenities such as good health care system, electricity, pipe borne water, good roads and so on. Without proper education, it would be difficult to improve the standard of living of the populace.

Education saves you from being exploited and fooled.  We live in a country where we enjoy a number of right and freedom so it is easy to take advantage of innocent and illiterate people. They may be trapped into signing false documents or be deprived of some right which they have because unlike an educated person they are not well aware of their rights / freedom.

In fact, in society nowadays, if you do not attend a higher education and acquired the basic knowledge, you will not be given a listening ear in most occasions.
